Carnet de route d'un UPjiste - Un hiver indien - 10 - Dans la montee du pelerinage de Sanjeev ki Akassnsha
PLUS C'EST HAUT, PLUS C'EST BEAU
Ce matin je me suis levé dans l'intention de gravir une montagne qui domine toute la vallée de Pithoragarh. C'est un lieu connu de pèlerinage et comme tout endroit sacré se situant en haut d'une montagne, on est sûr en principe de ne pas être déçu par la vue qui nous attend. Jusqu'à aujourd'hui, je n'ai pas pu profiter de la beauté de la chaîne himalayenne, toujours couverte de nuages, et je compte bien, vu le temps splendide, découvrir ses fameux sommets enneigés que l'on peut admirer sur une centaine de kilomètres.
Le départ du pèlerinage se trouve à 20 kilomètre de la ville, et comme toutes les indications sont en hindi, je me réserve la surprise de découvrir quelle divinité habite en haut de cette montagne. La montée est rude et particulièrement pénible à cause de la chaleur. Moi qui m'attendais à trouver cette année de la neige et du froid, je suis comblé, car j'ai l'impression d'être en été, même si les indiens n'arrête pas de me dire qu'il fait froid. Après une heure et demie de marche en solitaire, j'arrive enfin à destination. Après m'être déchaussé, j'entre dans la cour du temple et je suis pris par la splendeur du panorama et par les bhajans, chants sacrés pleins de ferveurs et de vénérations, qu'une dizaine de jeunes filles ont entonné. Le prêtre m'accueille et me dit que cet endroit s'appelle « Sanjeev Ki Akashsha » et qu'il est dédié à la Mère du Dieu Shiva. Ensuite il m'offre des fleurs, une banane et des sucreries et me présentent le temple. Quand je visite un temple hindou je suis toujours un peu gêné car je ne connais pas bien leurs rites et je ne sais jamais comment me comporter. Certaines fois, dans d'autres temples, le regard sévère du prêtre brahman me donnait pas envie d'entrer. Par contre ici je me sens bien. C'est un pèlerinage qui est très fréquenté par les femmes qui viennent rendre hommage à la Mère. Trois cent mètre plus bas, un autre temple s'élève, mais celui-là est dédié au Fils, le Dieu Shiva. Là, le prêtre, m'offrira des oranges et les servants du chai. Tous les gens que j'ai rencontrés là-haut ont été d'une gentillesse et d'une amabilité et je remercie Shiva et sa Mère de m'avoir fait découvrir cet lieu sacré.
Le seul petit regret, c'est que la luminosité était très forte, et les montagnes enneigées légèrement voilées ce qui ne permet pas de faire des photos de qualité de l'Himalaya. Il faudrait venir tôt le matin. Le soir c'est trop tard, les nuages sont de retour.
